Where to get free lunches for kids this summer

NEWARK - For students, the summer months are a break from school and homework.

But it also means many students don't have access to free meals that school provide.

To make sure kids have access to healthy and free meals, the Ohio Department of Education is sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program, which will have multiple locations in Licking County.

The program allows children from ages 1 to 18 to get a free lunch. Also, people ages 19 through 21 who have disabilities and have approved individualized education programs are eligible for free summer meals.

In Licking County, all the sites are provided by the Salvation Army in Newark.
