Wrestling: Westfall wins SVC title

SVC Wrestling Meet

The Westfall Mustangs defended their Scioto Valley Conference wrestling title Saturday, beating out Zane Trace to do it.

Westfall had four first-place finishers in Chanston Moll (106 pounds), Nevin Netherton (113), Hunter Bolt (138) and Sean Netherton (195) and four second-place finishers in Liam Smith (126), Lucas List (152), Gaven Calahan (220) and Alex White (285).

The Mustangs finished with 202.5 team points, followed by Zane Trace (172.5), Unioto (135.5), Huntington (72), Paint Valley (72), Adena (67) and Southeastern (60).

Other individual SVC champions were as follows: Unioto’s Ashten Moody (120 pounds), PV’s Blake Evans (126), Unioto’s Wes Davenport (132), ZT’s Dawson Hoselton (145), ZT’s Bobby Nye (152), ZT’s Brendon Johnson (160), ZT’s Brett Posey (170), ZT’s Austin Carroll (182), SE’s Andrew Moore (220) and ZT’s Tanner Kunz (285).

SCOL Wrestling Meet

Chillicothe had five out of seven wrestlers place on Saturday at the South Central Ohio League Meet.

The Cavaliers ended up finishing in eighth place (49 points).

Chillicothe was led by second-place finisher Joseph Hilliard (170 pounds) while Collin Lindsey (195) and Cole Maxson (220) both took third place. Tito Garcia (120) and Nick Erslan (182) both added fourth-place performances.
