Refinery issues cause Ohio gas prices to rise

Falling refinery output has led to rising gasoline prices in Ohio in the past week, according to reports from AAA. In the past week, average prices at the pump have increased 7 cents per gallon.

The AAA reported that average gas prices in Ohio were $2.13 on Monday. Analysts predict more volatility in prices as refineries switch from producing winter-blend gasoline to summer-blend gasoline.

The increased costs in Ohio led AAA to list the state on its "Top Ten Most Dramatic Weekly Changes in Gas Prices List." The group said Ohio prices are up 34 cents compared to last year.

However, Ohio prices remain low compared to the national average of $2.29 per gallon, but national prices have only fluctuated by a couple of pennies in the last month.
