Open house to welcome to new pastor

WEST LAFAYETTE - Pastor Jim Evans has been named the new pastor at West Lafayette First Baptist Church.

An open house to welcome him and his wife, Melony, will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the church’s Life Center, 688 E. Main St. Light refreshments will be served.

Evans attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and has a bachelor’s degree in religious education from Calvary Christian College in South Bend, Indiana. He has professional training in cross-cultural ministry, church planting, ministry to a post-modern world and self study program in Greek.

Evans has served as a trustee of Scioto Hills Baptist Camp and a missionary appointee in Australia. He has experience as a pastor and as a camp, conference and family seminar speaker.
