Arson investigator at scene of house fire in Newark

NEWARK - A house fire occurred Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Union Street and Hancock Street in Newark.

Crews on the scene reported flames were visible when they arrived on the scene around 4:55 p.m.

Newark Fire Department Lt. Shaun Glancy said there was damage to the exterior of the house, with a little bit of interior damage.

Glancy said no one was living in the house, and an arson investigator was investigating the scene.
