Newark improvement No. 25: Restoring Light Wellness

To commemorate a banner year for the city, The Advocate is highlighting 31 improvements in the city of Newark in 2016 through the month of December. Here is a brief look at number 25.

Restoring Light Wellness Center at 1 North Fourth Street and 46 West Main streets in downtown Newark.

NEWARK – Restoring Light Wellness Center greatly expanded its offerings this year at North Fourth and West Main streets, using the first and second floors of the corner building across from the Newark Municipal Building.

The center now offers yoga classes with instructor Dodi Wilson, personal training with Chris Banks, OULA dance fitness class with Missy Ames, intuitive massage and cupping with Mandy Thompson, healthy vegan and gluten free spray tans with Ashley Franks, and Tai chi with Mark Henry.

The facility at 1 North Fourth and 46 West Main streets includes a private gym with two yoga studios, three private suites, equipped bathrooms with showers and an infrared sauna.

Wilson, of Newark, is one of 16 yoga accredited IAYT yoga therapists in Ohio. She owns Restoring Light Yoga, Yoga Therapy LLC and Restoring Light Yoga School, which prepares participants to become accredited certified teachers.
