LOGAN - The State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire Thursday at Hocking Hills Dining Lodge.

Fire crews were on scene throughout Thursday, and the fire continued to smolder into the evening, said Matt Eiselstein, a spokesman for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Fire crews were notified shortly before 9 a.m. after a construction crew working on the roof saw smoke.

No injuries have been reported. The building was not open to the public when the fire was reported.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire at 20020 Route 664 South in Hocking Hills State Park.

While damage at the dining lodge is still being assessed, hiking trails, campgrounds and cabins have not been affected and are still accessible.

"Additionally, there are a number of dining options within a short drive of the park available to visitors, including the Lake Hope Dining Lodge," Eiselstein said.

The restaurant's Facebook page posted Thursday to let customers know that everyone was OK.

"To all of our wonderful customers, please know that everyone is safe! We will update when we can. However due to the fire the lodge will be closed today. We are so sorry for any inconvenience," the post said.
