Northpointe Drive to close for 2 weeks

ZANESVILLE - Northpointe Drive will be closed for two weeks beginning Monday.

According to the Muskingum County Engineer's office, both lanes of traffic will be closed on Northpointe Drive between Main Street in Dresden and Powelson Drive.

"We are doing a resurfacing project in about two years," said Matt Russell, administrative deputy. "These repairs are needed in preparation for that project."

Russell recommends commuters use Ohio 60 as an alternate route.

Bryan Karling, director of special services at West Muskingum Schools, said he doesn't expect the closure to cause any delays with bus routes.

"It will be very minimal, if any," Karling said.

Attempts to reach Tri-Valley Local Schools regarding delays in its transportation schedule were unsuccessful.
