1,300 lbs. of drugs collected on Take Back Day

MANSFIELD - The METRICH region collected over 1,300 pounds of unused or expired prescription medication Saturday on the National Prescription Take Back Event, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Richland County agencies collected approximately 261 pounds; Mansfield Police, 37 lbs; Richland County Sheriff’s Office, 93 lbs; Lexington Police, 47 lbs; and Shelby Police, 84 lbs.

The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office collected approximately 182 lbs.

Crawford County agencies collected approximately 230 lbs — Bucyrus Police, 48 lbs; Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, 39 lbs; Galion Police, 143 lbs.
