Fire damages Newark KFC
Staff report
NEWARK - A fire at Newark's Kentucky Fried Chicken damaged the restaurant Tuesday evening.
Newark Division of Fire Assistant Chief John Clouse said it was a small fire in the northeast corner of the building. Firefighters used chain saws and axes to access the source of the fire.
Crews were called about 5:30 p.m. to the restaurant's 38 N. Cedar St. location. No cause was known as of Tuesday evening, Clouse said.
Clouse said everyone was out of the building by the time crews arrived and no one was hurt.
