New documentary on Newark showing at the Midland

NEWARK - A free screening of the new documentary film “Under the Newark Sky” will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Midland Theatre, 36 N. Park Place, Newark.

The movie from Dr. Ron Emoff of Ohio State University and Cathi Goldie of Franklin University features various scenes and landscapes notable to the local area.

The film examines ways in which people and place creatively constitute one another in Newark and the surrounding area with a particular focus on musicians.
