3 seriously injured after crash on Ohio 180

CHILLICOTHE - Three people were taken to Columbus hospitals after officials said they sustained serious injuries in a Sunday afternoon crash on Ohio 180.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred around 3:40 p.m. Sunday on Ohio 180 near mile marker 6.

Officials reported Chico Rucker Jr., 18, of Dayton, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on Ohio 180 when he lost control of the vehicle and went left of center. His vehicle struck a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 50-year-old Kimberly Sellman, of Hillsboro, according to the patrol.

An 18-year-old passenger in Rucker's vehicle, John Alexander, of Dayton, was taken by medical helicopter to Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in Columbus with serious injuries.

John Cooper, 49, of Hillsboro, was a passenger in Sellman's car and was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by a medical helicopter for serious internal injuries.

Sellman was also taken to Grant with serious injuries by ground transportation, according to the patrol.

Rucker was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
