CHILLICOTHE - A 27-year-old man told police he was attacked and his pants were stolen in the early hours of Monday morning and he believed one of the attackers had a gun.

The man said a maroon car with two men and a woman inside pulled up next to him twice as he was walking, once on Elm Street and again near Mill and High streets, and the driver asked him about drugs, according to a Chillicothe Police report taken at 12:40 a.m. Monday.

The man said that after the second confrontation a male driver and a male passenger got out of the car and chased him. The driver tripped him, and both men began to kick and hit him, eventually getting him in a headlock and pulling off his pants before running back to the car, the man told police.

As he tried to approach the car, the man said the driver yelled that he was going to shoot him. Before they drove away, the man said he was able to get the license plate off the vehicle and gave it to police.

The man was missing money, had a scrape on his left leg and right arm, and bruising on the left side of his neck, his shirt was torn and there was grass in his hair and on his shirt, police reports indicated.

However, police reports noted the man continued to change his story, and his girlfriend gave conflicting statements. The man said he did not see a gun, but believed his attackers had one because the driver kept “grabbing the top of his pants,” according to reports.

The incident remains under investigation.
