BELLEVUE - A Sandusky woman pleaded no contest to assault charges and was found guilty for her role in an attack on a McDonald's employee in June.

Sammie Whaley, 31, of Sandusky, was scheduled to appear in Bellevue Municipal Court on Monday along with Mary Jordan and Ashley England, but court records show Whaley pleaded no contest to assault charges on June 9, a day after the incident.

Jordan, 33, and England, 29, are charged with assault as well as misdemeanor child endangerment charges. Bellevue police said children with both women were present during the alleged attack.

England's scheduled Monday hearing was moved to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 8. Both hearings will take place at Bellevue Municipal Court.

As part of her no contest entry, Whaley was found guilty, fined $100 and placed on non-reporting probation. Whaley will not face jail time as long as she has no similar offenses for the next year.

Bellevue police alleged the three Sandusky women attacked a McDonald's employee at 1:48 p.m. June 8 because the employee was working too slowly. Police allege the three women waited for the worker to leave her shift at the restaurant and then attacked her in the parking lot.

The woman was injured, but in a statement released in June, Bellevue McDonald's owner and operator Tom Humbard said the employee was recovering.

"We're grateful that our employee is recovering, but horrified that she was attacked. We thank the customers and employees who helped her, and the police for tracking down the suspects," Humbard said in June.
