Information sought in gun theft

NEWARK - Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft of a gun from a vehicle in Newark.

Newark police reported suspects broke the window of a truck parked on the 700 block of Midway Avenue between June 19 and 20.

The suspects then stole a Ruger 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, police said.

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888 or 1-888-488-9058. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time.
