Fifth man sentenced for Fountain Square home invasion

ZANESVILLE - A Gaysport man was the fifth to be sentenced to prison in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court for his role in a home invasion on Fountain Square two years ago.

Arnelle J. Vaughn, 21, received 16 years in prison on Monday for aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, theft and having a weapon under disability charges along with two firearm specifications.

Before his sentencing, Vaughn apologized to the court and the victims, which included young children.

"They didn't deserve it," he said. "The children didn't deserve it, either."

The charges stem from an April 26, 2014, crime in the 700 block of Fountain Square. Authorities said Vaughn was one of several men suspected of forcing their way into the home, where they held a woman at gunpoint and demanded money. Children in the home where threatened with guns and the woman was shot a stun gun, officials reported.

Ken O. Gatlin II, 20, of Zanesville, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his involvement in the incident. Jamell O. L. Butler, 28, of Zanesville, received 14 years in prison, Clarence Norris, 24, of Zanesville, was sentenced to 16 years in prison, and Anthony Boyd-Coleman, 25, of Zanesville, received 14 years in prison.

Bradley R. Robinson, 22, of Zanesville, has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the incident. He has not been sentenced yet.
