Pinson wins Eagles’ speech contest

ZANESVILLE - Caroline Pinson, 11, of Zanesville was awarded first place in the 10- to 11-years-old division of the Fraternal Order of Eagles’ God, Flag and Country speech contest for the second year in a row.

The daughter of Kevin and Amy Pinson and a sixth-grader at John McIntire Elementary School received an award and $1,000 check for the win.

Pinson’s three-minute speech was on women’s equality. In 2015, Pinson won for a speech on her grandfather, a chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserves.
