Juggalo concert will move to Colorado in 2017

Staff report

THORNVILLE - The Gathering of the Juggalos, an annual multi-day concert event that has been held in Thornville the last three years, will be relocating to Denver in 2017.

The announcement was reportedly made during a seminar held during this year's event, which took place last week at Legend Valley Music Center in Thornville.

Denver-based media organization Westword reported the news, citing an announcement made by Violent J and Shaggy, the members of the group Insane Clown Posse, which headlines the concert event.

Insane Clown Posse plan 2017 march on Washington

The band's followers, referred to as Juggalos, are also planning a march on Washington D.C. in September 2017. The group and its followers will be protesting their classification by the FBI as a "loosely organized hybrid gang" in a 2011 report.

Insane Clown Posse is known for spraying Faygo, a soda made in Detroit, on concertgoers. The band is also from the Detroit area.

The 17th annual Gathering of the Juggalos was held from July 23 to 25 at Legend Valley Music Center in Thornville. The Licking County Sheriff's Office reported six arrests at the concert venue, four of which were for drug-related offenses.

In 2015, 10 people were arrested at the venue for crimes and charges were later filed against others.

In 2014, a woman died at the concert of what was reported at the time to be a suspected drug overdose.
