Dale Powers to perform in Crestline

CRESTLINE - Dale Powers of Race Ministries will continue the summer music series at the Crestline Gazebo at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 on North Seltzer Street.

He will be joined by Mike Stevens, a solo artist, singer, guitar player and mandolin player.

The rain venue will be Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 N. Thoman St.

Powers graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1966. He played lead guitar in the band The Ohio Express. From 1967 to 1969, the group toured the United States and Canada promoting the international hit single “Yummy, Yummy, Yummy.” It reached No. 4 on the “Billboard Magazine” Hot 100 in 1968, No. 5 in the UK and No. 1 in Canada.

He performed more than 350 live shows and opened for well-known artists such as Neil Diamond, The Who and The Beach Boys. The Ohio Express appeared on the TV program “Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.”
