NEW CONCORD - If you are looking for a homemade seasonal meal, the Crumb and Cup Alley Cafe is the place to go.

A chicken salad croissant sandwich, made with sweetcorn, red onions, celery and fresh chicken on a buttery croissant, is a popular menu item at The Crumb and Cup Cafe in New Concord. The sandwich is served with a side and two freshly baked cookies or a brownie. The crunchy pecan grape salad shown is a seasonal side option.

Judy Mullen, owner of the cafe, changes her menu with freshly baked items for each season.

In Mullen's menu of freshly baked cookies, brownies, paninis and scones, there is the homemade chicken salad croissant.

She makes the chicken salad daily with fresh sweet corn, red onions, celery and fresh chicken. The chicken salad is served on a freshly baked buttery croissant.

"We make everything ourselves," Mullen said. "We don't buy packaged stuff and just heat and serve it."

The sandwich is served with a side, such as crunchy pecan grape salad, and two freshly baked cookies or a brownie. The salad is a seasonal side that is made with a cream cheese based with red and green seedless grapes, pecans and topped with brown sugar.

Mullen said the chicken salad croissant has been a customer favorite during the summer because people are looking for a cold meal.

The cafe is located at 68 1/2 W. Main St. The shop is located next to the John and Annie Glenn Museum features a homey atmosphere. Mullen said the cozy atmosphere is a big reason the shop has dedicated regulars.
