Columbia Gas plans $2.1M upgrade in Fremont

FREMONT – Columbia Gas of Ohio will invest $2.1 million to upgrade its natural gas infrastructure in the City of Fremont.

Customers in the project area are invited to a community information meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Birchard Public Library on Croghan Street. Customers may ask questions of Columbia representatives regarding the work and visit www.columbiagasohio.com/replacement.

More than 10,000 feet of natural gas lines will be upgraded, as Columbia Gas installs specially designed plastic pipe. The project is slated to be completed by the end of 2016 with no additional cost to customers.

This work will include portions of Croghan Street, Garrison Street, Birchard Avenue, McPherson Boulevard, Hayes Avenue, Jefferson Street, Washington Street, Lincoln Street and Monroe Street.
