Frazeysburg man on quest to sing with Keith Urban

FRAZEYSBURG - Two years ago, Jason Jordan wrote a song for his and his wife's 10-year wedding anniversary. Now he wants to sing the same song on stage with Keith Urban for his wife's 40th birthday this summer.

Jason, of Frazeysburg, and his wife Angee have been married 12 years now and have three children. By his own admission, Jason is not the most romantic person, believing at one point that a picture of flowers posted to Angee's wall on Facebook was better than getting her an actual bouquet.

In the years before their 10-year anniversary, their relationship took a turn. They worked different shifts and hardly saw each other. Divorce was on the table.

"We began kind of living our own lives," Jason said.

Then not-romantic Jason wrote a song telling his wife how much he loves her and played it for her on their anniversary after she got home at 2 a.m.

"I'm a romantic sap, so it was awesome," Angee said.

She cried. He cried. Their marriage took an upswing. The anniversary song made up for Jason not writing a song for their wedding, Angee said. And instead of going out together once or twice a year, they began going out once or twice a month.

"It actually kind of made me fall in love with her all over again," he said.

Recently, Jason found a bucket list Angee had written last year consisting of what she wanted to accomplish before turning 40, and among the top items on the list was to go see Urban in concert. She's never seen him in concert because every time one of his tours brought him close to Zanesville, the money just wasn't there.

So Jason rerecorded the song that helped save his marriage, and he is trying to spread it far and wide. If he can get Urban's attention, maybe Urban will sing the song he wrote. Or maybe, just maybe, Jason will be able to sing it on stage with him.

Jason said he has until July 21 to make it in time for her birthday.

He posted the new video to Facebook, and people began to watch it and share it. A lot of people. Fifteen thousand people. Which totally caught both Jason and Angee off guard.

They doubted it would go anywhere, Angee said. But the night it was posted, shares and messages started rolling in. Jason and Angee are members at Trinity Full Gospel Church in Zanesville, and they said the support they've received both online and from their church family has been overwhelming.

The song in whole, called "I'm in Love with You," is posted to a Facebook page Jason created called Small Town Love Story.

Both Jason and Angee know getting Urban to sing the song during one of his concerts is a long shot, but they don't care. The messages and support they've gotten from people is enough. Seeing the song shared and viewed so many times is enough. Going from a strained marriage to a strong one is enough.

"If this never gets to Keith Urban, I want people to know after 10 years of marriage, you can fall in love all over again," Jason said.
