Zanesville police investigate stabbing

ZANESVILLE - One man was transported to Genesis Hospital after being stabbed multiple times Thursday night in Zanesville.

Zanesville police received a call at about 9:13 p.m. about a fight involving knives in the 1000 block of Brandywine Blvd., according to Detective Sergeant Harry Taylor, with the Zanesville Police Department. Upon arrival, officers found a 31-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

According to police, that victim's injuries are no longer life-threatening.

A second man, 51 years old, was a victim of physical assault, Taylor stated. That man was treated at the hospital and released.

On Friday morning, two suspects related to the incident were taken into custody, according to police. One suspect, a 29-year-old man, was taken into custody during a traffic stop, and the other, a 50-year-old man, was taken into custody at a residence on Putnam Avenue.

The motive for the stabbing, Taylor stated, appears to be retaliation. The incident remains under investigation.
