Several sentenced in common pleas court

Feb. 8

•Howard A. Hastings, 35, 3160 First St., Trinway, was placed on community control sanctions for two years and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service in exchange for his guilty plea in two separate cases. In the first case, he pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property (motor vehicle,) a fourth-degree felony, and receiving stolen property (less than $1,000,) a misdemeanor. In the second case, he admitted to possession heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and possessing Alprazolam, a misdemeanor.

•Derek J. Combs, 25, 1312 Potts Lane, Zanesville, was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary, a second-degree felony, and theft less than $1,000, a misdemeanor.

•Jeffrey D. Saltz Jr., 26, 1038 Moxahala Ave., Zanesville, was sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered to pay $383.56 in restitution after pleading guilty to two counts of robbery, a second-degree felony, two counts of theft less than $1,000, a misdemeanor, attempted breaking and entering, a misdemeanor, and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. Post-release control is mandatory for three years.

•James R. Johnson, 44, 407 Brighton Boulevard, Zanesville, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony, possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor and illegal conveyance of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony.

•Jesse James Beach, 20, 47 1/2 S. Pembroke Ave., Zanesville, was sentenced to 14 months in prison after he admitted to violating terms of his community control sanctions. Beach had been placed on the sanctions in December 2014 after pleading guilty to improperly handling a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, and carrying a loaded concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony.

Feb. 8

•Scott A. Yockey, 32, Zanesville, was sentenced to 36 months in prison and ordered to pay $463 in restitution in exchange for his guilty plea to two cases. In the first case, he pleaded guilty to forgery, a fifth-degree felony, and theft less than $1,000, a misdemeanor. In the second case, Yockey pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to register as a sexual offender, a third-degree felony.

•Jessie L. Clark, 33, 929 Keen St., Zanesville, was sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to four counts of forgery involving an elderly victim, a fourth-degree felony, and theft between $1,000 and $7,500 from an elderly victim, a fourth-degree felony. Clark must also pay $1,400 in restitution.

•Gary Ross, 29, 608 Township Road 217, New Lexington, was sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to possession of Oxycodone, a fifth-degree felony, possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony, possession of a drug abuse instrument, a misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

•Colton V. Long, 20, 3120 Riverside Airport Road, Zanesville, was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to violating terms of his community control sanctions. Long was placed on the sanctions last March after pleading guilty to two counts of pandering in obscenity, a fourth-degree felony.
