NEWARK - No one was injured after a bullet was reported to have struck a house Sunday night on the 8100 block of Stewart Road.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office was called to the home around 9:40 p.m. Sunday after a bullet reportedly struck the home, Capt. Darl Evans said.

Deputies also said they found several street signs in the area that appeared to have been shot.

Evans said it was possible the suspects were shooting at road signs and a stray bullet struck the home.

No suspect or vehicle description was available.

A second report of shots fired was made around the same time on the 7300 block of Fallsburg Road. No damage was found in that area, Evans said.

Witnesses in the Fallsburg Road area said they heard a load exhaust, possibly on a small vehicle, leaving the area around the time the shots were reported, Evans said.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call the sheriff's office at 740-670-5500.

In an unrelated incident, the Newark Division of Police arrested a 30-year-old man and charged him with felonious assault after a report of shots being fired Monday morning.

According to court records, Garrison "Adam" Warner, 30, was speaking to another man Monday morning in an alley near Washington Street and Mill Street.

The victim told police Warner had become agitated, produced a handgun and fired several shots in the direction of the victim, according to court records.

Warner was located nearby and the victim identified him as being the person who fired at him, officials reported. A bullet also was located on the ground in the area, according to court records.

Warner is scheduled to have a bond hearing on the charge Tuesday afternoon.
