Four injured in County Road 55 crash

COSHOCTON – Four people sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash shortly after midnight Sunday in the 46000 block of County Road 55 in Jackson Township.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, Cody Mellor, 23, of Warsaw, was westbound when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck two trees and came to rest on the driver's side.

Mellor was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by mechanical means by emergency personnel, the sheriff's office stated. He was conscious and alert at the scene. Mellor was transported by Coshocton County EMS to Coshocton Hospital, where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

Three passengers were treated for minor injuries on the scene and weren't transported. The passengers were Dillan Shepler, 18; Thor Reed, 18; and a juvenile whose name was not released by the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office reported alcohol and speed are suspected factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
