Telegraph-Forum staff report

BUCYRUS – Two city residents were arrested late Thursday afternoon after a drug bust on Maple Street.

Shaun McCarty, 30, and Khristin Sharp, 26, both of 910 Maple St., were arrested and charged with a variety of drug offenses after the execution of a search warrant at 4 p.m. Thursday at the residence, said Capt. Joseph Greathouse of the Bucyrus Police Department.

The operation was conducted by Bucyrus Police with assistance from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Galion Police Department, METRICH Task Force and the Crawford County Special Response Team. It was the culmination of an investigation that took about a month and a half, Greathouse said.

McCarty has been charged with trafficking and possession of heroin, both third-degree felonies. Sharp has been charged with a fourth-degree felony charge of trafficking in heroin, the police captain said.

Greathouse said that in addition to heroin, syringes, a scale and drug packaging were found in the Maple Street house. Crawford County Children Services was called to the scene to respond to a girl in the home; her age was not released.
