Errors plague Lady Devils

Staff report

ZANESVILLE – Freshman Hannah Suttles clubbed a homer and two singles, but Zanesville's defensive lapses were costly in a 19-12 loss to visiting Marietta on Tuesday in the East Central Ohio League.

Marietta, which had only seven hits, scored seven runs in the second and five in the third to take a 13-7 lead it wouldn't relinquish.

Destinee Brooks added a double and single and also walked three times for Zanesville, which scored in all but one inning but never got closer than five runs of the lead after the third inning.

Devonee Daniels was losing pitcher, lasting three innings. Delbert pitched the final four.

Shayla Lamp was the winning pitcher, and Shae Hutchison had two singles for the Tigers.
