Letter: Fight back against Valley critics

William McBride

Yet again the “Freedom From Religion Foundation” has sent a warning letter to the Licking Valley school system.

This is beyond belief. When this first started, I thought it was some crazy bitter atheist stirring this up. I’ve learned that it is an organization of several hundred dues-paying members, with a full-time paid staff of 13. Makes you kind of wonder what sort of salary the executives have set up for themselves, eh?

As far as I am concerned, they should call themselves the “Freedom From Christian Religion Foundation.” Let them prove they are equally alert and responsive to the spread of other religions.

Good gosh. What are they afraid of? Might our young people be taught the Ten Commandments? The Golden Rule? Love for one’s neighbors? Honesty? Love for a God of peace? Respect for others? Charity? What a world this would be if those tenets dared to be promoted.

Write letters to these people. Tell them to get their nose out of where they have no business. In fact, if they don’t believe in heaven, tell them they can go to the alternative place.
