FREMONT – A city man was sentenced Friday to time he already served in local jail for groping a teen girl on the bike trail last summer.

Ruben Solano, 22, had already served 232 days in Sandusky County Jail while waiting to be tried on one felony count of sexual imposition.

Solano pleaded guilty in February in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court to one misdemeanor count of assault.

The maximum punishment for that charge is six months in jail, and Solano had already been in jail for more time than that.

The girl, who was 17 at the time, told Sandusky County Park District rangers that she was rollerblading July 11 on the North Coast Inland Trail when Solano approached her from behind on his bicycle and grabbed her inappropriately.

When she began screaming and told him she had a whistle, he fled.
