7 to 12 inches of snow in forecast

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Ross and most surrounding counties from noon Wednesday to 1 p.m. Thursday.

Up to 7 to 12 inches of snow are expected in the area after the rain transitions to snow around midday Wednesday.

Also, possible heavy rain has the area under a flood watch from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 2 p.m. Wednesday. The rain and snow melt combined could lead to flooding of poorly drained areas, low-lying areas, creeks, streams and some rivers.
