Kreglow recognized District 7 POY for unbeaten Bears

News-Messenger staff report

Gibsonburg’s Jordan Kreglow, recognized as District 7 Player of the Year in Division IV for basketball, does whatever his team needs.

“He makes us go,” Golden Bears coach Brent Liskai said. “We tell the kids if you win enough you get personal accolades. There’s been nights we needed him to score and nights he spread it around. He just wants to win.”

Kreglow’s face was bloodied against Eastwood and Hopewell-Loudon as Gibsonburg won each of its regular season games.

“He came back and didn’t miss a beat,” Liskai said. “He’s learned to handle a beating and plug along. He’s worked hard and he deserves (the recognition) he gets.”

Kreglow scored 36 points in two games this season and maintained his career average for assists. Teammate Bryce Ernsthausen is second-team all-District 7, while Derek Angelone and TJ McGough are honorable mention.

“We’re really happy we had four seniors honored,” Liskai said. “They’re a special group.”

Oak Harbor’s Andrea Cecil is first-team in Division III for girls. Athena Eli, Maddy Rathbun and Emma Barney are honorable mention.

Woodmore’s Jordan Williams, Lily Rothert and Mackenzie Johnson are honorable mention.

The Wildcats’ Drew Lewandowski is second-team for the boys. Woodmore’s Grant Weis, and Lakota’s Dakota Bowling and DeAndre Cannon are honorable mention.

The Raiders’ Katie Park is honorable mention in Division IV for the girls.

The Rockets’ Tyler Sievert is honorable mention in Division II for the boys.
