WILLARD – Drew Fodor scored a game-high 17 points but Port Clinton fell to Galion 53-45 in a Division II sectional semifinal matchup Tuesday.

The Redskins (9-14) led 40-29 in the third quarter but were outscored 24-5 to finish the game.

"When we got the ball to our bigs, we had a lot of success," Port Clinton coach Von Graffin said. "When we turn the ball over, (Fodor) doesn't get touches."

Galion (10-13) forced 11 turnovers in the fourth quarter.

"When team crank up the pressure, we have a hard time beating that," Graffin said. "This was a hard loss. They have a lot of weapons. We were well prepared and got what we wanted for three quarters."

Port Clinton's Joe Brenner dives for the loose ball against Galion's Colton Moore and Jordan Valentine during the second half of a basketball game on Tuesday, Mar 3, 2015.

Fodor scored 10 points in the first half, including a putback at the second quarter buzzer as Port Clinton led 30-25.

"He's starting to play better all the time," Graffin said. "When he got the ball in the first half he was good."

Carter Rumball and Kaleb Mizener made consecutive 3-pointers for a 26-20 lead in the second quarter. Joe Brenner had four points as Port Clinton scored eight straight for a 38-27 lead in the third.

Jordan Valentine scored 13 points for the Tigers, including nine after the Redskins established the 11-point advantage. Coy Vantilburg scored a team-high 16, including four 3s in the first half.

"Coy can shoot the lights out and Valentine attacked," Galion coach Tim Birie said. "It was pretty ugly for a while. They took it to us down low. I put a small lineup in there and made them handle the ball."
