Fire destroys vacant home

CHILLICOTHE – Crews on Monday continued to work a fire that started Sunday night in the 3500 block of Lick Run Road.

The home at 3516 Lick Run Road has been deemed a total loss by Springfield Township Fire Chief Tim Karshner. Karshner said no one was in the home when it caught fire around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The home had been sitting vacant for some time before it was recently bought, the department said, and the site rekindled Monday morning.

No explanation as to why the residence caught fire has been released, and the investigation has been turned over to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
