'Remarkable' women to be honored

ZANESVILLE – Three area women will be honored during the John and Annie Glenn Museum Foundation's annual program "Remarkable Women: Past, Present and Future."

The program and luncheon is scheduled for noon Saturday at Caldwell Hall at Muskingum University. The cost is $20 per person, and seating is limited. For more information, call the John & Annie Glenn Museum Foundation office at 740-826-3305.

The women who will be honored are Karen Brown, Anne Steele and Danielle Crown.

Brown, the past honoree, taught Spanish at Ohio University for 28 years, leading many to enjoy the Spanish language and culture through trips to Spain. She served for 22 years as the manager of the Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra.

Steele, the present honoree, became president of Muskingum College on Jan. 1, 2000, working to enhance the Muskingum University learning environment. She is coordinating a plan to lead Muskingum University in unprecedented growth.

Crown, a Muskingum University student from Coshocton, will be honored as the future remarkable woman. She entered Muskingum University in the fall of 2011 as an early childhood education major, has maintained a dean's list academic career and will graduate with honors in May.
