Vehicle fire reported Friday

MARION - City firefighters responded to a vehicle fire Friday morning in the 300 block of Decatur Street, and Assistant Chief Chuck Diem said the car had just been purchased.

Diem said a woman had bought the car within five minutes before there was a fire in the engine, which they extinguished after one fire engine responded.

The driver of the vehicle was not available to comment because she was leaving in another vehicle. The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m.
