The state expenditures assist CCL Label in a $25 million construction project at 2241 Beech Road Northwest; they also contribute to a $5.5 million road development project that supports the expansion of VeePak in the International Personal Care and Beauty Campus and a Vadata Inc. development at the southeast corner of Jug Street and Beech Road.

CCL Label, a maker of labels for consumer and health care corporations, plans to create 80 full-time jobs by Dec. 31, 2018, and will invest $18 million in machinery and equipment and $7 million in building on the west side of Beech Road, across from the beauty campus.

Ohio was in competition with Indiana, New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania for the CCL project, according to JobsOhio and the Ohio Development Services Agency. The company will have a payroll of $3.6 million.

The assistance package includes a $293,00 job creation tax benefit, a $100,000 road development grant and a $100,000 workforce grant.

The road development grants assist the city of New Albany in the extension of Innovation Campus Way from the beauty campus to Mink Road.

Vadata, a subsidiary of Amazon, plans to build a $300 million data computing center north of the beauty campus, creating 25 jobs initially at a 150,000-square-foot facility on 68 acres, Gov. John Kasich and JobsOhio President John Minor announced at a May news conference.

The Vadata payroll for 120 new jobs at three locations, including New Albany, will be $9.6 million.

VeePak, engaged in the production, packaging and labeling for personal care products, intends to create 100 new jobs by Dec. 31, 2018, and retain 134 existing jobs at 9040 Smiths Mill Road, in the beauty campus. The payroll for the new positions will be $3.3 million, according ODSA and JobsOhio.
