CHILLICOTHE  — Two people suffered knife injuries during a burglary Friday afternoon on North Rose Street, according to the Chillicothe Police Department.

Two victims were injured in an altercation on N. Rose Street.

Bud Lytle, the Chillicothe Police Department's public information officer, said 34 N. Rose St. was broken into around 12:30 p.m. According to Lytle, a male resident and a female resident were home at the time of the break-in and received injuries from a knife in an altercation with the suspects.

"At this time, we believe we have the suspects' location and are attempting to apprehend them," Lytle said.

Oran Green said he lives at the home and knew the people who allegedly broke in. He said he even “made eye contact” with one of the suspects. Green said he used to work with the male and female who allegedly broke into the home.

According to Green, he was asleep but woke up when he heard the front door open. Assuming it was his son returning from school, Green got out of bed. That’s when he said he saw one of the suspects near his TV. They got into an altercation in which he and a female who was in the home at the time were injured, he reported.

Green said the female victim was stabbed in the leg, while he suffered cuts on both his hands. He showed the Gazette two large marks on his left side where he was allegedly attacked with a knife. He was treated at the scene.

The female victim was taken to Adena Medical Center. Lytle said officials did not consider her injuries to be life-threatening.
