FREMONT — The FirstEnergy Foundation announced a grant of $7,500 to the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center. The grant was awarded to support the center’s capital campaign as it works to make renovations in preparation for the 100th anniversary of the center’s opening.

It was the first presidential library in the nation when it opened in 1916, and it continues to house one of the largest collections of any presidential library. One goal of the renovated exhibits is to motivate visitors to become more involved in their communities and make a positive impact on society.

“FirstEnergy is committed to improving the quality of life in communities where we live, work and do business,” said Dee Lowery, president of the FirstEnergy Foundation.
