The winners at the car show held during the Cumberland Community Days were: Best Car - Keith Parsons; Best Truck - Kenny Hendershot; Best Motorcycle - David Holyman; Best Tractor - Charlie Roberts; Best Custom - George Foreman; Chief’s Choice - Rusty Tucker; People’s Choice - Jeaneen Morland; Farthest Distance Traveled - Gary McCloud; Oldest Vehicle - Brian Roach and Best of Show - Clayton Brown.

Upcoming Events

•Valley Grange 1586 will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 28, at Theo’s in Cambridge.

••Spencer Township Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 21, in the township building.

•The Guernsey County Health Department will offer flu shots from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Cumberland Firehouse. Cost is $20, unless you have Medicare or other insurance.

•The recycling trailer from the SouthEastern Ohio Joint Solid Waste Management District is scheduled to be at the Spencer Township buildingon Tuesday and Wednesday. The trailer is for marked recyclables only. Please do not put trash in the recycling trailer.

•The Cumberland Village Council will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Village Building. Please note that this one day later than usual due to the Labor Day holiday.

•The Ark Angels will meet at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 9 at the Ark Spring Baptist Church, Ohio 284.

•The annual Paisley reunion will beging with a 1 p.m. covered-dish lunch Sept. 13 at the Old Meigs School Building on Big Muskie Drive.

•The fall re-organizational meeting of the Cumberland Homemakers will be at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14 at Cumberland United Methodist Church. Those attending should bring a covered dish and table service.
