PORT CLINTON — Authorities are asking for help from the public with identifying several suspects believed to be connected with a series of thefts, break-ins and fraud that took place earlier this summer.

In the first case, two suspects burglarized Salon 53 and The Popcorn Factory on July 3. Both suspects were caught on video from the salon’s security cameras at the time, however, they still remain unidentified.

Police said the same suspects then broke into Karma Salon in Sandusky on Aug. 15 and once again caught on security camera.

Brenda Belcher, the owner of Salon 53, said that, within 15 minutes of locking up and leaving the business about 6 p.m. July 3, the two suspects pried open the doors and began stealing property. The suspects took a laptop computer, an iPad, and about $2,500 in cash and checks, Belcher said.

Police are seeking to identify this man, seen by security cameras burglarizing Salon 53.

During that incident, the male suspect is seen wearing a red collared shirt with a dark ball cap, and the female suspect is in a multicolored dress.

Belcher said she is offering a cash reward to anyone who can assist in identifying the two and leading police to their arrest.

In another unrelated case, police are again asking for help identifying a female suspected of credit card fraud.

Police are seeking to identify this woman, seen by security cameras burglarizing Salon 53.

On July 25, a vehicle at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds had its window smashed and a purse was stolen. A credit card and bank card were then both immediately used in Sandusky before the victim was even aware what had happened, police said.

The female pictured with the white hat used the card at WalMart, a Speedway in Perkins Township, and a gas station in Margaretta Township.

Police need help identifying the female pictured with the white hat using a stolen credit card.

If anyone recognizes the people in the photographs or has any information, they are asked to call:

• Deputy Matthew McPeek, Erie County Sheriff’s Office, 419-625-7951

• Officer Bill Henderly, Perkins Township Police, 419-627-0824

• Detective Amanda Cross, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, 419-734-4404
