None injured in apartment complex fire

PLEASANTVILLE – A fire caused heavy damage to an office, community room and laundry building at Pleasantville Commons apartments in Pleasantville Monday morning. No one was injured.

Pleasant Township Fire Department Capt. Mike Hutton said the fire may have started on the outside of the building before moving into the attic at 3610 Richland Road.

Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the building when they arrived at the complex.

Hutton said the cause was undetermined but that the Richland Township fire inspector was on the scene.

No apartments were affected.

The state fire marshal's office and the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office are also investigating the incident.
