ZANESVILLE – Police are searching for a 40-year-old man who is wanted for missing a court date on multiple charges, including resisting arrest.

Authorities issued a warrant for Jason F. Dooley’s arrest after he failed to appear for a May 20 hearing in Zanesville Municipal Court. He faces charges for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business after an April 25 incident with a Zanesville police officer.

Dooley, 247 Pine St., is considered dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 740-455-0700.

He was arrested on April 25 after an alleged altercation with a police officer, according to his arrest report. An officer had responded to Underwood Street after a report of a suspicious male begging for money.

The officer found Dooley, who appeared to be intoxicated and refused to comply with the officer’s orders, according to ZPD. When the officer attempted to pat Dooley down, he became combative, authorities report.

He was arrested on the three misdemeanor charges and pleaded not guilty April 27. Dooley also posted bond.

Dooley has a history of criminal and misdemeanor convictions in Zanesville, including theft, drug possession, breaking and entering and vandalism. His record in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court goes back at least to 1998, court records show.
