NEWARK – A man was charged Friday with rape after reportedly engaging in sexual conduct with a boy over a period of several years.

Nathan A. Day, 50, last known address 1025 Weiant Ave. Apt. F, was charged Friday in Licking County Common Pleas Court.

According to court documents, Day is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with the boy between September 2012 and November 2014.

The victim reportedly told police Day had assaulted him more than once while he had been asleep or under the influence of alcohol or drugs while he was between the ages of 13 and 15.

When interviewed by police, Day reportedly confessed to the behavior and admitted to additional behavior with the victim when they were younger and with a separate victim, according to court records.

Day appeared before Licking County Common Pleas Court Magistrate Mattie Klein for a bond hearing Friday afternoon. His bond was set at $75,000.

The case will be reviewed by a grand jury in the coming weeks to consider for possible indictment and additional charges.
