Dryer fire destroys Bremen house trailer

RUSHCREEK TOWNSHIP – A dryer appears to be the cause of fire that destroyed a house trailer in the 2900 block of Bethel Road on Monday night, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The fire destroyed the trailer and its contents, causing about $50,000 in damage. The American Red Cross of Fairfield and Hocking Counties was notified to help the family after the fire was reported just before 8 p.m. Monday.

The homeowner reported hearing “popping noises” coming from the dryer and then began to see sparks. There were two people inside at the time and they made it out safely after calling 911.
