CHILLICOTHE – A Chillicothe resident has claimed a million dollar prize from the Feb. 28 Powerball drawing, according to the Ohio Lottery Commission.

Charles DeBord and his wife traveled to the Ohio Lottery’s Columbus regional office this week to claim the prize from the $1 million ticket sold in the Feb. 28 Powerball drawing.

DeBord purchased his winning ticket from the North Bridge Street Kmart store. He used the auto pick feature to choose his winning numbers, matching all five numbers but not the Powerball number that would have qualified him for the grand prize. Winning numbers for that drawing were 11-17-25-28-46 with the Powerball number of 12.

DeBord is one of six Ohio Lottery ticket holders so far in 2015 to win Powerball’s second-tier prize. After state and federal tax withholdings, DeBord will receive a check for $710,000.

Kmart receives a $1,000 sales bonus.
