CHILLICOTHE — A Chillicothe man found out the hard way that screaming obscenities — even in a nearly empty courtroom — is a ticket to jail.

Stephen V. McComis, 22, of 377 E. 2nd St., was arrested Friday after the incident at the Chillicothe Municipal Court.

According to an incident report, McComis entered Municipal Court Judge Toni Eddy’s courtroom while court was not in session and began yelling, using obscenities and threatened a police officer. A probation officer told a nearby police officer that McComis had already been warned about his behavior

The officer approached McComis, who continued being loud in the hallway as he began to exit the building. The officer then arrested McComis on a disorderly conduct charge and took him to the jail, where police say he also threatened jail staff.
