MVL Archery recognizes top teams, archers

ZANESVILLE - The 2016 Muskingum Valley Archery League held its annual awards ceremony Sunday.

Six league schools, Crooksville, Maysville, Morgan, New Lexington, Tri-Valley and West Muskingum, compete at three levels, elementary, middle school and high school.

Tri-Valley (14-1) claimed the high school title with Maysville second (12-3); Crooksville (8-1) and Maysville (7-2) were first and second in the middle school division; and Maysville (9-0) placed first and Crooksville (6-3) second in the elementary division.

Individual awards were given to the top 10 boys and girls in each division.

High School Boys: First place Larry Eyman, Crooksville, 882.75 points followed by Dalton Talbert, Maysville (864.75); Colin Lee, Tri-Valley (860.25); Remington Beardsley, Tri-Valley, (851.75); Dylan Storts, Crooksville, (849); Slade Blizzard, Tri-Valley, (845); Bram Wakeley, Maysville, (844); Trevor Oler, Tri-Valley (842.25); Adam Crock, Maysville (838); and Vincent Vaughn, Maysville (835.25).

High School Girls: First place Rachel Hampp, Maysville, 847.5 followed by Ashley Compston, Crooksville (847.25); Jera Thomas, Crooksville, (834.75); Maraya Metz, West Muskingum (834.25); Mekenzie Snelling, West Muskingum (834.25); Dakota Ehrnfield, Tri-Valley (833.25); Kailey Lindsley, Tri-Valley (830); Kaitlyn Stewart, Crooksville (826.25); Kate Cooper, Maysville (820.75); and Storm Albertson, Maysville (819.75).

Middle School Boys: First place Nate Harper, Maysville, 865.5 followed by Kanyon Zinn, Maysville (837.75); Chase Skeenes (823.5); Noah Dickerson, Crooksville (822.75); Caden Keck, West Muskingum (809.25); Nick Flood, Crooksville (805.75); Cameron Hill, West Muskingum (805.75); Preston Zinn, Crooksville (804.75); Jack Hehr, Tri-Valley (804.25); and Jeremy Barnett, Tri-Valley (804).

Middle School Girls: First place Ashley Huff, Crooksville, 845.5 followed by Sierra Moore, Morgan (842.75); Tori Tracy, West Muskingum (831); Lynnea Crock, Maysville (826.25); Hannah Ogilbee, Maysville (813.75); Hope Stickdorn, Crooksville (811.25); Kaylee Pieper, West Muskingum (810.75); Tanya Howell, Crooksville, (810.5); Emma McElroy, Maysville (802.25) and Treva Hampp, Maysville (799.75).

Elementary Boys: First place Matthew Harper, Maysville, 850.75 followed by Gavin Keirns, Crooksville (835.25); Drake Caton, Crooksville (789); Jaxon Wolfe, Crooksville (783.25); Bryce Wilhite, Maysville (767.75); Domonic Bobb, Crooksville (742.75); R.J. Knox, West Muskingum (732.75); Canon Mercer, Maysville (731.75); Dyson Hough, Tri-Valley (731); and Colin Mathers, Maysville (724).

Elementary Girls: First place Reagan Rhodes, Tri-Valley, 782.75 followed by Madison Elson, West Muskingum (778); Gracie Meredith, Maysville (775.75); Cassidy Valentine, Maysville (770.75); Trista Tracy, West Muskingum (767.25); Kalie Rice, Tri-Valley (758.75); Abbie Strickler, Maysville (755); Alexia Kahle, Maysville (744.75); Sorcha Berridge, Maysville (743) and Makayla Jackson, Maysville (736.5).

Most area teams will compete in the 2016 NASP Nationals from May 12-14 at Louisville, Kentucky. The event will feature more than 13,000 archers from grades 3-12.
