Ed is well mannered and easy to handle

Ed is an approximately 3-years-old Labrador Retriever mix weighing 45 pounds. He’s a black pearl dressed in a shiny coat with sparking eyes and the most tender of smiles. Ed is relatively well mannered and easy to handle, stopping here and there to sniff but always responsive to his handler. He is one friendly and sociable dog, who is happy to make friends with everyone he meets. He’s long on kisses, gentle affection and charm.

The Newark Advocate will be profiling a dog a day in October from the Licking County Animal Shelter in honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.

For information about adopting Ed, call the LCAS at 740-349-6562 or visit 544 Dog Leg Road, Heath.

Adoption fees include current vaccines and preventive care and spay or neuter procedure. New from the shelter is added microchipping included in adoption fees and additional health insurance at no charges for 30 days after adoption.

Shelter hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
