Fall items available at Fresno Farmers Market

Julia Brown

September has arrived in all her splendor and another Saturday of farm to table awaits at the Fresno Farmers Market.

Unbelievably the Labor Day weekend is upon us accompanied by the official end of summer. Which in turn kicks off football season for local area high schools and our beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, meaning tailgating season is in full swing. Your vendors at the Fresno Market have all sorts of great homemade and home-grown items to make the perfect Labor Day picnic and fuel your favorite team on to victory. Wonderful homemade artisan breads for great sandwiches, fresh from the garden heirloom tomatoes for on top of those sammies, plus hand picked onions, sweet corn, peppers, cucumbers, squash, apples, peaches, melons, local golden honey, jams, jellies and more. And let us not forget all the delicious sweets; from angel food cakes, donuts, cinnamon buns, cookies, pies and the lists goes on.

We even have all the decorations you need, like: colorful mums, decorative gourds, soy candles and hand crafted items to make your Labor Day weekend perfect. There is an awesome and wide range of fabulous farm to table items to select from. As our group of vendors continue to grow, so in turn does the amount and diversity of farm to table continues to expand. You just got to love it.

I am truly impressed each week at the amount and different choices there are to pick from. If you haven’t made it out to Fresno yet this season, time is beginning to wide down. Though the selection is still amazing, there are only about seven Saturdays of market remaining. So, get up and get going this Labor Day weekend to the heart of downtown Fresno at McCoy’s Auto Service, to meet the farmers that bring this great bounty of freshness to your table.

Information from Julia Brown of the Fresno Farmers Market open 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday, at McCoy’s Auto, 26214 Township Road 1045. For more information, call 740-545-0849 or 740-545-0997.
